nope (or at least they did not mention it to me)! They will be showing it when it's released though ;)
(which is still good as it's going to be a limited release)

I hope the release isn't too limited as not only do I want to see it (not a problem for me as I will go where I have to, within reason) but OH is also saying he'd like to, so if the film is already on his radar, it must have made an impression. Usually, by the time he has heard of something and gets round to asking me if I'd like to see it, my answer is "I told you, there was a free preview a couple of months ago, and you said you weren't interested!"

Just read an article in Sight and Sound. This looks interesting. I haven't seen many films with Sean Penn but I can't wait for this.
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog: http://jacobthehobnob.wordpress.com/

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

I think I was in the wrong mood to watch this since I'm sorry to say I didn't like it and did a 'Celini' and walked out after 30 minutes. :shifty:

I was at the premiere for this otherwise might have walked out too.

saw it tonight again; big disappointment they re-cut it :'(
they completely slashed David Byrne atmospheric performance to a mere 30-seconds shot... this was the original version

I was regretting getting home too late for either of my possible previews tonight (this and Headhunters) but am not so sure now whether I really lost out so far as this one is concerned... will have to wait and see if anyone has a good word for it!

What a pile of steaming preverbial!
A pretentious yawn fest that seemed to have a goal way in the distance but never actually got going.
As the saying goes....there's another 1 1/2 hours I'll never get back.

Quote of the film: "There's only one thing worse than dying and that's spending the time waiting alone". I disagree!

How surprised was I to discover the totally bizarre Emo Phillips type creature was in fact Sean Penn. Never recognised him at all despite having seen him only 2 weeks ago in Milk.

Several walk outs in Edinburgh especially one couple who had to get the whole row to stand up to let them pass!

3/10 is all that I can muster for this one and 2 of those were for the fat kid singing.

Weird.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

I went to Hollway to see this with Celine, saw Ejwrank, OH and Cliveas there and sat behind them. Poor EJW had one of the seats from hell that squeak every time you dare to shift a centimetre.

This film wasn't for me, it was too far out and arty and I really didn't understand a lot of it, especially the voice over. Sean Penn was magnificent in this role, he looked like a thinner Robert Smith crossed with Edward Scissorhands, and spoke like a cross between Ozzy and Michael Jackson.

The support cast were great but underused. I liked the Ireland part of the film but there were things that really didn't need to be in the film, and stretched it out far toooooo long for me. Then the film switched to America, and got wierd and wacky.

I wanted to leave pretty early, but stuck it out and rudely rushed out without saying goodbye to anyone

Interesting titbit, the Goth girl is Bono's daughter

5/10 for the Penn and the cinematography
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks
