I went to Hollway to see this with Celine, saw Ejwrank, OH and Cliveas there and sat behind them. Poor EJW had one of the seats from hell that squeak every time you dare to shift a centimetre.
This film wasn't for me, it was too far out and arty and I really didn't understand a lot of it, especially the voice over. Sean Penn was magnificent in this role, he looked like a thinner Robert Smith crossed with Edward Scissorhands, and spoke like a cross between Ozzy and Michael Jackson.
The support cast were great but underused. I liked the Ireland part of the film but there were things that really didn't need to be in the film, and stretched it out far toooooo long for me. Then the film switched to America, and got wierd and wacky.
I wanted to leave pretty early, but stuck it out and rudely rushed out without saying goodbye to anyone
Interesting titbit, the Goth girl is Bono's daughter
5/10 for the Penn and the cinematography
