Watched this tonight at an apparently sold out o2 Greenwich. Got there for 6:45pm and allowed in. They didn't take our phones but did tell us to switch it off. I think there were some kids stuff going on somewhere from 6:00pm as loads of kids came in with balloons and other kiddy looking things. Managed to get good seats and there was popcorn on every seat (no drink though). Ushers were forcing people to actually move closer as apparently a) they had released more tickets than seats b) it was completely sold out. So many people had to sit next to those who they'd normally want a space with (except for me - the usher never asked me). The entire front rows (note the plural) were empty as were the sides so I'm not sure why we all had to sit on each other's lap. Some f**king c**t (possibly her d**khead boyfriend) behind me kept kicking my seat, I thought I was going to rip her leg off at one point and hit her on the head with it. Finally stopped when she pushed it so far forward, I had to climb up from my seat to glare at her. Not even a bloody apology.

Anyway, onto the movie. I didn't think the 3D was anything spectular - certainly not as good as Avatar or How to Train Your Dragon. Infact, I'd probably recommend watching it in 2D. Storyline was the normal as you'd expect with the Chronicles of Narnia and quite abit of humour (I don't remember so much of that in the first one). Eustace was a great character - really loved him
especially when he became a dragon!
Aslan appeared in very few scenes but the storyline wasn't as interesting as the first one (I barely remember Prince Caspian so can't compare it to them). It also seemed abit jumpy in some scenes and somewhat rushed or maybe that was just me. I'd be suprised if this does better than HP in the box office although I did prefer this more.

8/10 from me - definitely recommend for those with young ones, certainly over HP (they'd probably get abit scared watching that!).

I agree with a_person about the 3d. I was there too, and frankly they need to stop with this 3d in non animated movies, it just ruins them. Somehow its fine with animation but not live action. Its horrible. The 3D made the film much darker. I know because I compared it with taking the damn glasses off and i was heck of a lot brighter with the glasses off. The action was blurry and unfocussed and I suspect again because of the 3D.

As for the movie, there was much to enjoy but oh boy the dialogue was atrocious. Not sure why but Lucy and Edmond have deteriotaed as actors. Maybe because they're much older now I expect them have improve with each film like the Harry Potter cast. But Eustace was great. He could have even got a few more laughs if the dialogue wasnt so terrible.

All in all the story was surprisingly well adapted considering the book was the least adventurous. But I need to see it again in 2d when it comes on Blu Ray to enjoy the action and visual spectacle more.

7/10 for the film. 2/10 for the 3d experience

That is one hell of an imagination...disturbing... but damn imaginative! Think you should go into directing horror films.

Also saw this at the O2, apart from the guy texting on his cell phone half of the movie it was pretty good. Agree with the 3D comments, especially with this movie as it seemed to not add anything to the film/experience... prob not enough action scenes and it seemed abit blurry. Would have prefered a normal 2D viewing, 3D seems abit overrated.

Saw the guys at the enterance who looked like bouncers at a club, didn't take any phones tho which was a bonus as I couldn't be bothered with all of that. Quite funny as there was 6 of them wondering around not doing alot looking quite out of place.

Started off with showing random live footage on the screen of outside Leicester square where the premier was (Interviews, crowd shots, etc...). Then Joe Mcelderry sang a couple of songs, a few more crowd shots before the feed cut out with a bad/no signal message 6 foot high on the screen (snow kicked in I guess).

Good movie, 7/10 overall, would recommend to see in 2D and a good one for the kids.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

I pretty much agree with the review from a_person :p
Enjoyable fantasy with comedy in parts, did what you'd want a Narnia film to do. I have not seen Prince Caspian so had no reference, but was happy to see Edmund and Lucy take the leading roles (no, I have not read this book either) and was happy for the addition of Eustace, who I think held the funnier moments of the film, humour quite similar to the comedy the actor does on E4 - School of Comedy. 3D was wasted on this film unfortunately as I only recall it being used in two scenes; one with Lucy and the spellbook when she made it snow and the other during a water scene near the beginning of the film.
7/10 from me.

The only additions I can make are to inform of what was going on upstairs for the kids. There was a blue screen for you to have your pic taken (and printed out A5 size) unsure who/what with, a lady making balloon models, most were of flowers you could wear like a bracelet and wands with a butterfly (for the girls), there was a different something on the wands for the boys, but I forget. Oh, and there was a stand for face painting.

I've noticed Disney has an option to make the 4th film in the series if they want to, so I guess they haven't given up on the franchise yet, but just maybe taking a break

Went to screening at Holloway this morning, and there was a good FMUK turnout! Lovely to see sunny saver, ejwrank and ucakpam and their OHs. There was no heating in the cinema and there was a note to this effect on the door, and if you return to the box office within half an hour you could get your money back, apparently!

I agree with a_person. Not much 3D in this. Thought it was a slow start, but enjoyed the magic, thought Eustace was funny and he grew on you!

It's a lovely children's film though. 8/10
