Re: Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
I do like these bright /colourful 3D films. Very enjoyable and like Rainey says, it has a lovely message. I've noticed that the word 'lovely' has been used a lot in this thread and I understand why - 'lovely' is the first word that popped into my head when trying to describe it! Even the villain is not too menacing (well, we don't want to terrify the little kids). Just the right length too. 7/10.

Re: Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
This was just so sweet and cute. Lovely bright images, adorable characters (pipsquick sp? and the big bear in particular). Also thought the musical numbers were fab though surprised that Zac Efron and Taylor Swift (both known as singers as well) didn't have any solo numbers.
In all much better than I expected from a Dr Seuss film (never grew up with the books in the Netherlands, all I know are the movie adaptations of The Cat in the Hat and The Grinch both of who are a bit bizarre and not very good).
Also liked the brief reference to Indespicable Me
I do have one question.
At some point someone in the movie describes what trees are and says that their leaves fall, however, what they know as trees (the bark topped with the colourful stuff they make thnead from) doesn't exactly look like a standard tree with leaves. So where did that reference come from and how come their fake trees looked a lot more regular (at least they were green) than the thnead trees?
9/10

Re: Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
Meant to say yesterday and forgot, at the Multimedia screening in April there was a Despicable Me short before The Lorax, but yesterday disappointingly it was just a small blink and you miss it clip, it's a shame it was quite fun.canadian_turtle wrote:

I'm really boosted by the positive reviews and WOM this is garnering.
I'm gutted I missed out on the freebie screenings but really looking forward to seeing it with my wee boy when it goes on general release.
