I sadly missed the preview of this, so I just think I'm going to p*y to see it. Sorry Beate, but this looks like a tense, tense film.

I thought it was fantastic. It really does draw you in, assuming you're able to suspend disblief. I did find it funny that he got through to certain people so easily, but I can accept that because to make that aspect too real would certainly bog the film down and kill the pace, which I thought was perfect. I read the review in today's metro and was annoyed by how the writer knocked the film for the ending. I can understand people not being happy about it and feeling a certain way emotionally, but that just means that the story-telling did it's job. If anything that should result in a better reviewer score.

I did have to hang-ups though:
1. How does Brenner how how Paul can change his phone from vibrate to a ring-tone? He tells him to hold the star key, but how can he know that without knowing what kind of phone Paul has in there with him?

2. Where did the personnel director get the number to phone Paul back from? This is a major gap in logic to me. Brenner said the number came up as unavailable for them, so no way could Paul's employer have that number, right?
Regardless, I'll go 9/10 for how well the story involves the viewer, and against all logic, really. At the start I was thinking, 'Wait a minute, am I really gonna spend the next 90 minutes watching a guy in a box?'. I was full of tension before I knew it and in severe need of a massage once it finished. Brilliant stuff.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Well for whatever anyone thinks, it's going to be one of those seminal films remembered forever like Pulp fiction, Memento. However I just can't get that image from my mind of some smug film geeks/students sitting in a room going" hmmm lets make a film about a guy in a box and lets just see how long we can keep him there". There's not much narrative logic or drive behind it apart from the fact that they've "done it".
I wish I attended the Q&A with the director, I would have loved to know where he got the idea from. Maybe by copying the idea from "The Vanishing"..... (which at least had a decent narrative)

I know I'm 14, but I managed to sneak into a screening this morning at my local cinema (don't tell anyone). I'm telling the truth when I say that I was the ONLY ONE in the cinema. This is why the film had a more profound effect on me than I expected. I thought it was tense and well-paced and despite its flaws held out as a well-directed indie thriller.

I am more shocked about the fact that there was no one else there to see this!

It was quite surreal. It meant that I could text in the cinema for once without being told off, but it still scared me, being in the dark on my own watching a man struggle inside a box.
