I haven't read much about this film yet with Ryan Reynolds, but doesn't the poster remind you of the famous ending of the film, The Vanishing?

I saw a trailer for this last night, and was very uneasy about it - I don't like confined spaces. It looked fairly scary.

I hadn't realised that Ryan Reynolds is in it - he's moving away from the lead in rom-coms - wonder how good he'll be in it?

I've found this article -

'Buried' may have given Ryan Reynolds his best reviews, but the actor insists it was his worst experience on set.

The 'Wolverine' star plays a truck driver who is kidnapped and is buried alive. His only company is a torch and mobile phone.

The entire film is spent watching Reynolds trying to escape, and the actor admits it was something of an ordeal during the two week shoot in Spain.

He said, "I never slept, and it was a real problem. I was just so wound up. I was totally alone out there.

"Very few crewmembers spoke English and coming home at the end of each day was kind of a lonely, anxiety-ridden experience.

"I'd planned a vacation about six months beforehand to leave from the set and join my wife (Scarlett Johansson) on this sandy beach, but there was so much sand in the box. I realised the last place I wanted to go afterward was a place filled with sand."

He added, "I've never been happier to finish a movie. I will never complain on a film set again."

It's tension overload in this panic-inducing thriller starring Ryan Reynolds as a man trapped in a truly terrifying situation.

Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) is an American contractor working in danger-filled Iraq. A devoted husband and family man, his life takes an unexpected turn for the worst when he wakes one day to find that he has been kidnapped. Horrifically, Paul's prison is a wooden crate buried six feet underground - and he has only a mobile phone and a lighter to help him make sense of his predicament. With poor reception, a battery that's on its last legs, and an oxygen supply that's diminishing with every breath, Paul has just 90 minutes to get to the bottom of why he's there, procure whatever it is his kidnappers want, and finally - hopefully - secure his own freedom. Ryan Reynolds gives a suitably intense performance as a man battling to survive in this claustrophobic chiller.

Cast (Credited cast)
Ryan Reynolds ... Paul Conroy
Robert Paterson ... Dan Brenner
José Luis García Pérez ... Jabir
Stephen Tobolowsky ... Alan Davenport
Samantha Mathis ... Linda Conroy
Warner Loughlin ... Donna Mitchell / Maryanne Conroy
Ivana Miño ... Pamela Lutti
Erik Palladino ... Special agent Harris

Yes I am catching up on all the trailers today! Since normally free previews there's no trailers. I liked the trailer for this, it's very simple yes, but simple and effective and as I mentioned in the 1st post, i liked The Vanishing (both versions).

Didn't much care for the trailer. People were looking around like they thought something was wrong with the film and we were only getting the sound through. Doubt this is gonna be a film I can watch. The idea of being buried alive is gives me the heeby jeebies. Reminds me of a vincent price hammer horror though :p :p

Saw the first 8 minutes the other week, was squirming in my seat, would never be able to watch the whole film, but it looked well made, and response from FrightFest was good.
