I did it! I finally did it! o/ I matched my colleague's weight loss pound for pound, but did it in a week less than him. Maaan is he irritated. :p

Right, well, that's the end of playing with the boys, now the rest of this journey is just about me. Still going, the weather is getting decidedly hotter and I'm determined to look good this summer.

Takeaway to celebrate? Nah. Gym. o/ o/

Well done from me too. You must feel amazing.

Well as for me I had the most enormous slice of chocolate cake at John Lewis on Saturday with the delightful company of ejwrrank who ensured that I got The slice. o/  I really really need to get into the zone but with 4 consecutive nights of cinema I have no idea how it will work this week.

Thanks, ladies. o/

Diane65, it doesn't actually matter when you eat, it's what you eat. When I go out 4 nights on the trot, I have a snack between work and play (like some soup) and have a meal after the show/film. M&S do some nice fuller for longer/count on us ready meals you can cook quickly if you don't fancy batch cooking healthy stuff in advance. Having something between work and the cinema is necessary otherwise you end up eating crap and/or being prone to grabbing a takeaway on the way home.

Trust me on this, I go out most nights and have managing hunger/sugar levels down to a fine art now! ;)

Eating lots of fruit and veg on a normal day is important but on a super busy day, you just need to eat fewer calories than you burn.

Planning is key!

I know I'm my own worse energy as I have started to do extra work most evenings (OH has been made redundant hence I'm taking on extra work) so literally have 5 mins between walking in and going out hence eating crap. :wall: I need to allow time to eat like a did a couple of years ago even having enough time to walk to the cinema hence burning up more calories. I have time at weekends to batch cook so it is the time factor in the week that is the issue.

Like Diane, I've been finding myself pushed for time at the moment. Between long hours at work, a two hour commute and the usual domestic commitments, it feels like I've got little time for exercise and generally looking after myself!

Squeezed in a quick workout this morning, consisting of chin ups, dips, squats, crunches and press ups. Bit of a walk with the OH today and we're off for a cycle tomorrow too.

Hope everyone is well!

I have taken a leaf out of your book johnmilton and as I was undecided whether to watch a free cricket match and no exercise or go to the Manchester parade and have time for exercise I took the latter option. Just done my Tracy Anderson DVD and my goodness it was heard work - I was actually panting as hadn't got my breathing right and just generally let my fitness levels plummit  I feel like I have put on even more weight so getting naffed off with myself but it can only be upwards now after putting myself through that this morning.

Well, I'm off to the gym today (lunch with old friends first) because I've also been doing far too little exercise. We all have to keep at it! o/

My flat is currently an organised bomb site - there are loads of bin bags, some for charity shops, others for textile recycling. Am throwing out all my fat clothes, a good friend of mine said not to keep them or I'd let the weight creep back on. Also doing a giant declutter at the same time. o/

I've (unexpectedly) discovered I fit into three gorgeous dresses I never thought I'd wear again. One of them is the most expensive thing I own and I b*ght it in - ooh, must have been '06. I don't really know where I can wear it - it's dead posh and also very daring. But the point is, I can wear it if I want to! Ahhh, this is a good day.

Now Diane I really do feel you are being too hard on yourself. You opted for something today that would let you exercise rather than sit so take that as a positive. You are getting back in the swing of your exercise DVDs so that is another positive. You will build up your stamina and I for one am amazed at all that you stuff into a day!

I have just been cheering on son David who is running in Hackney's first ever half marathon. I was on the 4 mile mark by the Town Hall, put daughter up at 5+ mile mark, I moved down and was at 7+ mile mark and husband is at 12 mile mark. We are hoping it will all go fine. What a lot of runners and I was desperately for searching for mine!

Update -- son has finished and is home and a respectable time too for his first try. He began training for this 13 weeks ago so that's 13 weeks for 13.1 miles!

Wow, well done to David! o/

I'm training for my first ever 5k, which everyone assures me is nothing but sounds incredibly daunting to me. I forgot it would be summer soon, it's going to be roasting during the race! I'm therefore really impressed by a half marathon. Today was really hot where I was in central London, so I imagine the conditions at Hackney were pretty tough.

Had a really good session at the gym. Sundays are such a good time to go, it was literally me and half a dozen men. Naturally they were lifting and using the scary machines, so I had my run of the place. o/
