Re: Kung Fu Panda 2
My first experience of the cinema/sky superscreen at the 02 and it was very comfortable. Nice comfy seats and decent leg room. The free popcorn and water was a nice bonus. It was also nice to catch up with a_person, Deni, pxc, valda, Beate and canadian_turtle.
I thought the film was cute but not the strongest story. I watched the original Kung Fu Panda film yesterday which I think is better than this one and has a stronger script. The film did make me tear up in one scene and I did go 'awwww' a few times but it's easily forgettable. The 3D seemed only to come into effect in some scenes so was largely underused for the duration of the film. The story did lose its momentum in the middle but picked up towards the end. The evil peacock was a bit underwhelming and most of the famous voice actors didn't bring that much to their characters. My favourite character is definitely Po's dad who got the best line of the film (gave me quite a few giggles). Not as good as some of the other recent animated films I've seen like Rio or Tangled so 5/10.

Re: Kung Fu Panda 2
I didn't realise everyone went to 02 today, for some reason I thouht it was "+ " another London location for KFP2
Sorry I didn't find at least some of you and didn't say hello
We walked in O2 more or less just after 15.30 (15.35 or so?) Children checked all the seats at the back and said they could see only 2 seats there
and I think these were the same 2 seats which Beate found more or less the same time
Anyway I told the kids that 2 seats are no good for us
as we want 4 together and we ended up somewhere in the middle of flat bottom half. We were nowhere near the front but anyway it was still too close for me and too flat...
I've seen the film before (Orange Wednesday) on a relatively big screen ( but still much! smaller than today) and from premium seats and to be honest I enjoyed it much more! 3D worked better for us on Wednesday! Today it even made me dizzy a bit.... I didn't know they had more seats somewhere else. I only noticed 2 obvious parts in this screen .... otherwise I would have asked to move...
Popcorn wasn't to our taste today
we've opened only 1 bag for all of us and couldn't even eat half of that one bag. Took our 3 and a half bags with me, didn't want any extra popcorn to take home but did notice that all popcorn from the spare seats near us disappeared during the end credits
Water was nice!
Anyway it's a nice movie for the kids of right age (7-11? as the rating is pg) and my child was more than happy to watch it again today with friends. Someone did bring a baby today and the baby was crying couple rows behind us... may be because it was a bit scary for a BABY?
Also didn't know about fresh popcorn vouchers, but was aware about car parking ( didn't need any today, we took a train, but read somewhere (sky reminder?) that it's up to 4 hours FREE with the valid movie ticket!)
Well, next time I'll manage to get to O2 for a movie I'll be more with it
re nice seats and saying Hello to people!

Re: Kung Fu Panda 2
3 adults went to Braehead to see film courtesy of Sky. We enjoyed film but I think we laughed more than children in the audience! Lovely characters. Animation very good, particularly of Po's face. I could just take him home but think the staff would notice!

Re: Kung Fu Panda 2
i loved the first one!
this one though - i can't even really comment on properly as i kept falling asleep! :O woops.
the 3d glasses make it all look too dark though - i'd rather it have not been in 3d and just watch it in all it's colourful glory!

Re: Kung Fu Panda 2
My rating of film: 7.8 / 10
I'm just reading the last few comments and I can't believe this film is being rated quite poorly because I enjoyed it! I thought the 3D effects were okay - good...A LOT more than Toy Story 3! Totally loved the 3D effects when there were like leaves/trees which was pretty. I enjoyed the story about Po and his dad (the Goose)! I loved their scenes together about their past and present! I think the Goose was hilarious as soon as it spoke and constantly about noodles! ahaha! I quite liked how there was some parts about Po and Tigeress possible love relationship *awww*. Generally I enjoyed Kung Fu Panda 2. It's different to KFP 1 and I think for a second sequel, it was good because usually you would expect it to be nothing as good as the original! I am hoping there will be KFP3
I was queuing around 3PM and I was eating our Wasabi takeout with a bag full of drinks from Tescos and there were already 20-25 odd adults/kids infront of us! I popped to the loo and my BF was already inside! ahhh! Luckily my BF had given the ushers a heads up that I wouldn't have a ticket...*phew*. My BF got the best seats...middle and probably about 5 rows odd from the top
I love toffee popcorn and the extra water bottles I took home since we had x2 evian, x2 coke bottles and x4 ribenas in our Tesco bag ahaha. The seats and view were really nice but I like to sit with my back straight so they were a little bit uncomfy for me just because it was a bit on the slouchy side for me. There was a little cute kid behind us who kept saying 'why is he crying?' at the non-crying scenes and then his mum would go 'shhhh', THAT kept me laughing too ahaha.
Overall I do think this film is probably aimed at more the older kids, like me basically lolz. The kid next to me was fast asleep on their mum's lap and definitely in a deep sleep in la la land
because she was close to snoring!
I think Sky is 'awesome' (in Po's voice
) for cool film, good seating, free popcorn, drinks and handing out the tickets back for free parking and thank you to tilly for tickets
