I got tickets for tuesday. I wonder how small the dermalogica gift will be?

Nothing wrong with a magazine :shifty:

Yep, just a magazine. Not even an interesting magazine. They could have given me a copy of Zoo or Nuts or maybe even a bit of top shelf literature. Ah well, I'll just have to make do with this.

At least you have something to read on the way home.

For their defence it was a Psychologies screening

I was extremely pleased when the "nibbles" weren't just a handful of crisps but lovely sandwiches (and the drinks were great too!), really got my hopes up for the goodie bag because of that and was at least assuming we'd get the book, but alas, just the magazine (which is a bit odd because surely they'd assume most attendees to be subscribers, why would they need another copy of the magazine?). This was my first screening with "goodie bag" too, pfft! Hope tomorrow is better!

The movie itself I thoroughly enjoyed. Not as much of a tear jerker as I expected (there were quite a few funny bits too) but I did shed a tear or two and got really involved into the storyline. I did think it was perhaps a tad too long as at times I was really wondering how many hours had passed since entering the screening room. Quite distracting as well was Emma Stone's boyfriend as I knew him from somewhere and for a while thought it was Zac Efron! But no, of course, it was the much better Chris Lowell from Veronica Mars.

The Q/A afterwards was quite interesting as the director himself is also from Jackson, Mississippi and a good friend of the author so had plenty of backstory to tell. The random university professor from Chicago was highly annoying though, blabbering on about her own life which nobody cared about (well, I didn't anyway).

9/10 for the movie, 7/10 for the Q/A (9/10 for the food, 1/10 for the "goody bag")

We complained to the Psychologies lady afterwards about the lack of goody bags and she was quite perplexed and asked us to note our email addresses down so she could "sort something out" but then more people started coming back in and she asked PXC and me how many people were in our party, and when we said "about 20" she paled visibly and said to us that she would get in touch with the two of us so we could provide her with more of people's details. I think I am shooting over to twitter now to give feedback there too. More in a mo!

Thanks for the update, Beate! Should I do the same on Twitter?
