I saw this a few months ago and had really high expectations for the first feature length production from Zachary Quinto's Before the Door but am sad to say that it didn't really deliver. It was an ok film, but it could've been so much more and had a tendency to drag on.

It's been out in the States for a while ;) (though not as long as one'd assume, considering the movie's been in the making for quite a few years now!)

I have to say, unlike c_t, I thought this was one of the better movies of the year!

Thing is, it deals with the financial crisis which, unless you understand financial jargon, is very difficult to explain. "Inside Job" covered it quite intensively but I must say, even though I work in an investment bank, much of their wordy explanations went completely over my head. I needed to rewind a good few times and pause so I could take it all in. "Margin Call" on the other hand, as slow-burning as it is, kept me glued to the screen. The writing was excellent and the performances flat out blew me away. Every actor got at least one opportunity to shine, particularly Kevin Spacey.

I thought it was truly gripping stuff. Don't forget, it all takes place over one night and it is 100% dialogue driven. Absolutely no action whatsoever. So if this doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy, I'd advise you steer well clear of this because you will find it extremely boring.

Sadly yes. :undecided: I just didn't have the patience to wait 4 long months for the UK release.
