Just watched trailer (thank you).

While not blown away by Drive (only saw on dvd, missed screening), this does very much 'tickle my fancy'!

Hope it delivers.

Reft has yet to disappoint me and I'm a big fan of Gosling so I have massively high hopes for this one.

Drive is also one of my best cinema experiences of recent years.

This is quickly turning into my most anticipated film (after 'Pacific Rim' anyway ;) ) of 2013:

Only God Forgives

#6 Post by LondonCityNights » Mon Jul 29, 2013 11:47 am

Most of you are going to hate this film.

Currently sitting pretty in the mid 30s on the tomatometer it's been roundly dismissed as pretentious, boring and confusing. Jokes on them, because, along with Spring Breakers, Only God Forgives is one of the best films to come out this year so far - inarguably one of the most visually stunning at the very least. It's Nicholas Winding Refn's follow-up to Drive, teaming up again with Ryan Gosling. But if you liked Drive, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll like this. It's a slow, hypnotic, largely dialogue free neon-soaked exploration of Bangkok street violence, much more like Refn's previous film 'Valhalla Rising' than Drive.

Here's my review

5/5*

Loved it. Will watch it over and over again.

Out August 2nd.

I enjoyed Valhalla Rising more than Drive, so this might be for me.

Been excited about this every time I passed the poster at the cinema.

I think some of my sky "family" codes may have found a film to be used on!
