Filth

#1 Post by Yinster » Wed Sep 04, 2013 1:47 pm

Can't seem to find a thread on this Irvine Welsh's film. Even did a search. Please move if there is one.

Received an email from SFF just now

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Filth will now be shown on Wednesday 25th September at 6.30pm at Glasgow Renfrew Street.

Your ticket will be valid for the new date and a reminder will be sent to you which will give you a chance to print the ticket with the new date on.

So is Glasgow the only one to have a date change?

Also friend has already seen this a couple of months ago and say this film is only going to appeal to Irvine Welsh's fans. Let's see if this is true.

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

I read the book years ago & it's not a patch on Trainspotting (the book).

That said, some terrible books have been made into great films (Lord of the Rings) and some terrible books have been made into terrible films (the hobbit).

ps not been notified of any change at nottingham, so probably just you.

I loved Filth, read it years after Trainspotting, caribou stork nightmares and ecstacy so didn't compare. I'm really glad of the date change as it means I can see it now.

Hmm, interesting headline from McAvoy - "There will be people who walk out of the cinema I'm sure"

Was looking forward to this, but never got to see this tonight as problems at Manchester Printworks, not sure whether they actually showed the film as they said it would be about hour and not sure if anyone stayed. We opted for the offer of a free ticket for future use instead :D

Luckily Betty Botter was able to give us tickets for Thursday showing instead o/
