A Walk Among the Tombstones

#1 Post by prettyxcool » Tue Sep 02, 2014 12:42 am

Most people arrived around 6.15pm expecting food and drinks but there was none! They put us in the holding area, so when they opened up screen 6 at Vue West End, there was a mad crush to get to the best seats. Told not to sit in the back row, but then several of the rows nearer the front were reserved. Managed to grab some seats on the second row in front of the reserved seating, so good for the Q&A afterwards. Lovely to see so many FMUKers too.

I thoroughly enjoyed this very solid crime thriller. Liam Neeson was Liam Neeson, and I loved his side kick. Lots of wry humour. An easy watch. 8/10

Q&A with Liam Neeson was awesome. He mentions an "aura" in actors on screen - he definitely has it! What a surprise for me as I was not expecting him to be there. The blurb from SFF did not mention it at all, although winners were told he would be there.

Having watched taken 2, I will admit I was expecting much.
However, was surpised by the fact this is a good film.
neelson's character has a dark, gritty nature which complimented the story and interactions with the other strong cast.
the story line was good and built surspense which drew the audience in.

Rating: worth seeing at the cinema.

The single "surprise" was in the trailer....thanks trailer.

This would have been "straight to video" not so long ago.

Agree with you.

I was disappointed with this. It felt like a bad 80s TV film and it didn't half drag on. The ending was complete nonsense.

Thought that this was reasonably solid and although it wasn't as good as 'Taken' it was much, much better than 'Taken 2'.

Early on I thought that it had some interesting themes & ideas which potentially could have made this film something quite special but as things progressed that ball got dropped and instead they decided to go down a more generic & forgettable route. I was also slightly disappointed & surprised by how light on action it was, especially considering the tone that had been set by the first five or so minutes.

That said, I wasn't ever bored by this movie & time wise it didn't outstay it's welcome so overall it did enough to get a 7/10 from me...

Pretty decent film. The trailer gave me a different impression to how the film really was but it was interesting enough to keep my attention, mainly because I thought there would be more action. Really liked Brain Bradley (sidekick) who I remember from X Factor USA and is now a rising acting talent. It was great to see Liam Neeson in the flesh at the Q&A, he came across as a genuinely nice guy and gave a great interview.

Well that's the first of the a Groupon Odeon vouchers gone.
Thoroughly enjoyed this last night after the dirge that was TMNT earlier in the day.
Good solid crime drama with Liam playing Liam as only Liam can! He missed a treat not having played himself before he hit his 50s!

Enjoyed it. There will be a sequel!
