Dear John

#1 Post by Beate » Fri Mar 26, 2010 7:56 am

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0989757/

It's love at first sight for John (Channing Tatum) and college student Savannah (Mamma Mia's Amanda Seyfried) when they meet by chance on the beach during a summer holiday. But their romance is threatened as the holiday ends, Savannah has to go back to college and John must return to life in the army and all that his duty entails. Brought together by love, will fate tear them apart?

From the author of The Notebook, Dear John went straight to number 1 of the US box office, knocking Avatar off the top spot earlier this year.

Its a great book, made me cry so much so I know the film'l have me in tears, hate the fact that they've changed the film ending though, I love the book ending its not what I expected but its what made the book so great.

Going to the screening for this with Lovefilm on Tuesday. It apparently has a Q&A session with Channing and Amanda, so that should be good hopefully. This looks very much like my kinda film and Im very excited about seeing it! I loved the Notebook, A walk to remember, Nights in Rodanthe, so hopefully it will be in the same vein.

Hope to see some FMUK'ers there :)

I won tickets too, but I'm reluctant about this film. Saw the reviews on imdb and they weren't good. I think the best part will be the Q&A session.

Oh so the special screening is in Kensington? Normally they do these kind of screenings in the West End.
