Agree opera and ballet are overpriced, AND I never seen any tickets to ENO or ROH on last minute.com, etc... AND they do not do group rates, school rates, etc...,Very rarely they email special offers with whatsonstage, etc...
I asked them in ROH about school rates and they said they do not need to do it... as they'll sell children's ballets, etc. anyway!
I honestly thought that the school rates, etc were to promote the theatre to the children, not to fill up the seats... but I guess I was wrong
So in most cases you'll either have to p*y what they ask for or don't go unless you receive a lovely unexpected present from SFF.
I think they used to do "10 pound Mondays" or something like that years ago... but I never had a chance to use it, and not sure how it worked....
With musicals they do special offers, lastminute.com, group rates, school rates, half price ticket boof, kids week, same day ticket sales (like Wicked) etc....
So musicals a bit more affordable? They have different price ranges for Rock of ages now, with top price tickets being 45 pounds before September 26th, which is not bad for a musical!
I have several friends in New York and I was considering asking them re Rock of Ages, but we are almost there now? So we'll see for ourselves! (Big thank you to Canadian Turtle for providing me with this excelent opportunity!) and thank you to superhero for the codes!
Awaiting Monday reviews!
