Really?? America's Top Model? I thought she was pretty unpretty. Which one was Ryan Gosling? I take it he's the one all the lady FMUKers are swooning over? Lol. I thought the kid was really good.

A good all-round rom-com that will appeal to both mans and ladypeeps. A clever mix of comedy with real life, totally believeable characters and a good helping of twists in the mix. Nice to see a movie without the gross-out moments for a change (although I am partial to those as well!) One you can take your mum to without having to cringe.

8/10 from me.

I quite enjoyed this film, but no where near as much as i thought i was going to. it was so long! the beginning really dragged, i thought quite a few bits could have been cut out but now i can't remember which bits, but it just felt a bit long. also i didn't quite feel some of the music placement was quite right, a bit meh but it didn't affect it too badly.

i'm due to go and see it again on thursday but i really do wish i was going to see friends with benefits again instead.

I think aruif's got it right. Enjoyed it, but didn't quite live up to the hype in terms of laughs. One odd moment that I don't quite understand where the writers were going:
So Jacob drugs the drinks of the girls he takes home - but this doesn't go anywhere. Ok, it shows he's more insecure than we think, but it's such a nasty thing to do and was never followed up.
Hmm... when did that happen David? I must have been falling asleep at that point.

Much agree with Aruif apart from the fact I thought first half was promising but 2nd half was going nowhere fast. It was so contrived when they all bumped into each other at the family home near the end of the film. I don't mind if the whole film was a screwball comedy in tone, but this was more of a dramedy. There were some very funny parts in it though and some clever lines, so 7/10
It was when he took home Cal's daughter and made her a drink and put a pill in it.
Maybe I'm going mad - mum's also denying seeing that bit. I'm sure he put something in the drink!

My sister and I saw this at Hatfield last night and I agree with Aruif and David to some extent, though I would still give it a respectable rating.

It was OK but nowhere near as good/funny/original as I'd expected; I think I'd got the impression that it was better than a normal rom-com/comedy, whereas for me it didn't quite match up to my personal bests. We both thought it was too long/slow, particularly the first half, and repetitive, too. However, unlike some others we thought it improved and we enjoyed the plot twist and the family get-together.

Ha ha. It was a sugar lump he crushed....then I think he added a few drops of Angustura Bitters before the alcohol. Nothing more sinister than that I believe.
He was a bit slimy though....wouldn't have put it past him.
