This was absolutely fantastic. I had so many thoughts and feelings throughout but am struggling putting them all into words at the moment.

First off all the Toy Story short beforehand: Brilliant. By far my favourite Toy Story short so far, I could not stop laughing (and mini Buzz was too cute!)

The film itself was a true testimony to the legacy of the Muppets. From Walter fanboying the TV-show and the glory days of the Muppets (I need his Kermit watch by the way!) to the storyline of saving the theatre which is the same story from It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie.

I knew there was going to be some singing in the movie but didn't realise it would be quite so much and I loved it. The original songs were sweet and catchy and the self-mocking (the "rain" on the window comes to mind) was absolutely hilarious. Hearing Rainbow Connection again was glorious and I am glad they managed to add a Rock of Ages song too (We Built This City)

Jason Segel was as great as I expected him to be and Amy Adams suitably toned down her singing/dancing as she was not a central character in this movie. Loved all the cameos! I feel there was a lost opportunity by not having a NPH/Jason Segel duet, but I do understand they were trying not to take away from the main storyline and the main characters; the Muppets itself.

10/10

(I was very disappointed by the lack of "fun in the foyer" at the Empire this time though. Not a single cupcake in sight and not even a green screen to get a picture with the Muppets. You can do better than that, Disney!)

Yeah, it was all right.

Here's my review: http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2012/01/16 ... e-muppets/
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

*Googling rent-a-kid companies* :shifty:

In all seriousness though, do people know (from experience) if you show up to a screening like that without kids (but just the 2 adults on the tickets for instance) if you're refused entry?

I don't see how you would. I sometimes enter for 'family' ticket comps in Sheffield if it's a film I really want to see. I am a bit put off to go on my own and waste 3 tickets like that but hey sometimes it's the only option if no other free screenings are available. Not that I've actually gone on to win the family tickets anyway. :shifty:

'Yeah yeah I have kids... I lost them somewhere this morning, but what the heck, why would I ruin my day for two brats, right? I'll search for them later, haha! So, what time is the movie?'
I'm sure it could work.

Yeah, plus if you win and don't mind not inviting a friend of yours, you can always offer the three other tickets to someone in this forum who has brats.
That's what I'd do ;)

I have never had a problem using family tickets for adults only - 2 or 4 of them.

Thanks for the input guys! I've always refrained from entering comps for family tickets, worried I wouldn't be able to use the tickets anyway, but I shall give them a shot from now on.

I gave up on offering spare tickets a long time ago as no-one wants a single (and it's not exactly safe for me to do that anyway, since on my own try not to advertise where I'll be etc). I couldn't even find someone for the fantastic Haddon Hall screening of Jany Eyre so it's just not worth the hassle.
