I enjoyed this a lot more than I figured I would and it manages to be quite good despite itself.

I'm not terribly comfortable with those animals in cages, though... errr "enclosures", I mean. I'm still an aminal guy, despite their best efforts to sway me.

Ended up going to see this at Wester Hailes tonight and Radio forth were there asking people for feedback.!!

Still 7/10 on second screening tho

We had a girl from Hallam FM greeting us on the way saying she'd be asking for comments on the way out. She came in and sat at the front to watch it once it started, poor girl left just before the zoo inspection thinking it was near the end. She must have had a long wait or popped back in again.

Saw this last night in Wimbledon. On the whole I enjoyed it - although it was a very Disney-esque interpretation of the actual story. It is a shame the film had to transpose what was essentially a true British story to the US and then make no mention that the original actually happened in the UK. The end titles did mention that it was based on Dartmoor Zoo, but omitted to say that it was in the UK. It was a good family film although adults might find it a bit too saccahrine-sweet. Re the cast - it was nice to see a mature Matt Damon (who I think has improved with age) playing the widowed father, good also to see Scarlett Johansson in a role which doesn't depend on her sexuality. It was lovely to see Maggie Elizabeth Jones again (after seeing her not too long ago in Footloose) - who could not fail to fall for charms? One definitely to take the kids to - if you don't have kids then I might steer clear.

Saw this night and really enjoyed it. Though agree that I'm not sure why it had to be set in the USA when it's a British story!
