Oh you just planted am inception in my head to keep the topic alive ;)

BB and TDK are both equally awesome for me and I watched both of them again yesterday after my slight disappointment with the trailer. The trailer doesn't excite me tbh. But I am excited for the film if that makes sense.

woo!

so do you guys think that Avengers was better than the Dark Knight movies. A lot of people consider the Batman films as the current benchmark for superhero movies but I wonder if the goalposts have changed.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I think they're totally different in that the Avengers is more light-hearted, the DK ones seem to be darker & with the Imax footage really pushing the boundaries of 3D (which was hardly noticeable in the Avengers). I still remember the trailer for DKR shown on the Imax screen before John Carter and it really felt like the american football player was leaping off the screen with the ground collasping behind him.

I wasn't a massive fan of the last film but I am looking forward to seeing it in Imax & luckily have a voucher/email for it o/

I would say Avengers was on par with Dark Knight. To me, Avengers needed a bit more development and just needed to focus on its scenes longer and iron out those plot inconsistencies (
seriously, still confused at how destroying the Chitauri base would kill the actual aliens. No buildup or mention of that anywhere in the movie and just happened
and at 142 minutes, it still felt WAY too short. If those 30 minutes of deleted scenes get cut into an extended cut then it will definitely surpass TDK).

And i felt TDK was better than Batman Begins, so by that logic Avengers has beaten BB anyway.

However i can't get pumped for TDKR. Everything i've seen and heard about the movie just screams "meh" to me. It lacks the enthusiasm and punch that TDK seemed to be bringing and
bringing back Ra's Al Ghul and focussing on the Al Ghul family
just makes me yawn tbh. Maybe it will surprise me but it just looks stale so far
