Oh dear, sounds like an awful screening today, I didn't make it as had a poorly child in the night, but have to say it's the parents not the child's fault, I wouldn't take a very small child, I take my niece sometimes whose almost 4 but only to things I know are age appropriate and she has quite happily sat quietly through a few films now. My 2 have met Beate briefly and I have told them that she is the boss of the free films, don't behave she'll ban you!! :giggle: But seriously it shouldn't take someone else to tell your child to be quiet and if they can't behave or sit still the parents should remove them.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

I completely agree. I was shushing the mother, who was talking to the child just as loudly. And I think she's a selfish twat for wanting to watch the film when her child clearly does not want to be there and doesn't even have the decency to tell her to be quiet and take her to the bathroom herself, etc.

As we left the screening as I was passing her seat I deliberately stopped and looked straight at her giving her the evil eye but unfortunately I doubt she'll get the message or even care how she ruined the screening for everyone around her.

Unfortunately not everyone has your sensible approach!

We went to see this yesterday and on purpose didn't tell the boys what we were seeing to stop the moaning. (hehe).
The 3d wasn't needed at all. I took my glasses off with half the kids and it made no difference to 99.9% off the picture !!
Film wasn't great. But Disney are nearly always great. Hadn't watch film in years do was good to see again
7/10

Oo and I loved the tangled short film before. It was fab just wished it was longer
The youngest(5) with us loved the 3d in the tangled. Think it was first time he realised what 3d is as he normally takes off the glasses. All he kept saying is the horse is right there not in the film. Lol
9/10 for tangled.

We were at Glasgow Quay yesterday in a tiny cinema so it was pretty busy, people were being turned away. Thankfully the children at this screening were all very well behaved and the girls I took along loved the film and the Tangled short.
I wouldn't take my son to a screening yet as he is just about to turn 3 but there were a few wee ones in the crowd and they were all very good bless them, one wee girl had her princess dress on. I always expect the children's films to be a bit more noisy as they are children's films. I've honestly had more bother with adults being twats at screenings than kids.

Well Glasgow Braehead was about half full/empty. Only about 60 people came out to see this. We arrived first and thought we would join the queue to get in. Turned out everyone was off to see The Avengers. So we sat in the screen for a good 30 minutes before the next lot came in.

Anyway I love Beauty and the Beast and was impressed with the 3D at the start. Unfortunately though I wish they continue with it throughout but they didn't. Only really having 3D effect at some points in the film. I thought the film looked somewhat dated too compared to how cartoon films are now too. I'm old enough to see this when it first came out in the 90s but thought it was more impressed first time round. Singing/humming the tunes to myself. 7/10.

Loved Tangled too. 8/10

Thought screening was not very full at Odeon Holloway. Lovely to have the company of funthing, and catching up with Sunny Saver and ejwrank. There was some latecomers who stood chatting for quite a while behind ejwrank, before sitting at the two seats behind ejwrank, and then proceeded to rustle their wrappers, I was surprised ejwrank did not turn round to shush then, but she seemed really engrossed. Then about half way through the film, two more latecomers, granted they went and sat down the front quite quickly and quietly, but surprised they still came in that late.

I obviously had not woken up entirely, as when the Tangled short came on, got totally confused and thought this is familiar, more like Tangled than Beauty and the Beast! :D :D :D But I loved it. It was so hilarious

Anyway, Beauty and the Beast although still a classic and probably very imaginative in it's time, did feel a little bit dated, when you compare it to Tangled and the like. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed it and even shed a tear or two! Feeling in a soppy mood. The film is clearly suited for little girls, as the little boys in front got a bit restless, and 3D glasses are not popular. So what is it with the 3D? Didn't make any difference to me. But good to see it on the big screen. 7/10

It's funny you saying this as I really do think part of it depends on how good your eyesight is. For me 3D is about the picture being clearly and standing out more, more like HD. And I do feel films miss out on tricks and cheat the customers a bit when they don't utilise this and get things "coming out" from the screen.

I think I do have poor eyesight, especially in the dark! :P I feel 3D should make the film sharper, with more depth so you feel like you are almost in the film, and having things almost in front of me, as you say "coming out" of the screen. Compare it to Hugo, the 3D was brilliant and it was visually stunning, and not darker like most 3Ds. LOL
