Just in from seeing this. I loved it more than the kids tho.
There were glued to the screen.
We had to rush there as bus seemed to have lOts of diversions so almost missed begging. Rushed in they didn't even check our tickets as it was 10.55 grabbed sone sweets and yummie lollies. We had free popcorn too o/
Film was great fun.
But the lorax didn't seem to be in much of the movie
A little wierd as movie name after him

But animal characters we soo cute

I was also lucky enough to attend the Odeon West End screening today, we arrived at 10am just before it started to get busy, the kids couldn't believe all the things laid on for them, face paints & tattoo's, lots of lovely food & drink as mentioned above, candy floss, there was a photo booth which printed out passport style Lorax photo's and a green screen which placed you in the advert,we were given 2 really nice copies of this one and can also download the photo. We also found Lorax himself downstairs and have some photo's of him between the trees.

All 3 of us really enjoyed the film, lots of catchy songs, it was heartwarming and feel good, but also carried a serious message which was not lost on the kids.
there were lots of gasps of oh no, when the last tree was cut down
the forest creatures were just adorable, especially Pipsqueak. Hopefully they'll be more previews nearer the time of release which is not until July as we'd happily see this film again.

Was lovely to see Beate & OH and prettyxcool.

This was really, really good. Solid 4 star fare and going back over the book, a terrific job was done with the adaptation. I was kind of annoyed by the way the animals were essentially the minions re-hashed though. That small quibble aside, this was very pleasantly surprising.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

How come there was no announcement in the 'free films' forum...

Weird doing a screening when the film is not out for 2 months and they already have sitting in cinemas.

I think it was a competition so it would have been put in that forum.

Kids are losing touch with nature, and I hope this will help bring it back, I really liked this film, as it got the message across without preaching. It was fun, humorous, and cute to watch, the story of corporate greed v the environment. I like the strong woman characters too in the mum and grammy. Much better than I expected. 8/10

Thanks Beate for offering me a ticket, and I so loved the minions at the beginning, before the film.

I do question their wisdom of moving the film from Easter to the summer. It will be released 2 weeks after Ice Age 4 and 1 week after the new Batman and just before the Olympics. Sure it's a solid film, but it's a solid Easter film, it's going to be trampled on amidst all those summer films. It did take over $200 million in the States, so they must be thinking it will do well in the summer....

It's going to be released just as the schools all break up though, as a parent there does always seem to be a lack of children's/family films over the summer, we have 6 weeks to fill!
