Re: Friends with Kids
At first it looked as if WIQ was going to be a very quiet screening with only a handful of people. But my oh my, what a stream of latecomers we had once the film had started! It was lucky that we were in screen 3, which is a lot bigger than the usual screen 1.
Beate, I think one of the drawbacks your favourite seats have is that the view gets blocked when people walk up and down the stairs once the film has started. I understand your frustration as today it was just a tad too much and, of course, people stop half way through to look for seats and linger around...
I had no expectations about this film so I thought it had its good moments. I do agree that they didn't get the best out of all the comic talent they had and the ending was a bit contrived. Still, it was way better than say Life as we know it.
Tonight I have nothing but words of praise for Cineworld as they kept hold of my glasses case which I lost during last week's screening. I was such a happy bunny when the guy came out with it.

Yep, I was a witness and she did indeed jump up and down and squeal a bit!
Re: Friends with Kids
The cinema was surprisingly packed. Perhaps they thought the movie was going to be funnier than it actually turned out to be. Shame really. Just a so, so for me. Some bits were funny, but these felt drawn out.

Re: Friends with Kids
Saw this in Cineworld, Glasgow. Fairly large number of latecomers doing the seat searching as elsewhere. 2 walk outs after 10 minutes! I must admit that I chose to got to Friends with Kids over Fast Girls tonight as I wanted a good laugh . . . I'm still waiting! Film is billed as comedy but the main story is not that; it's more about the relationships in making a family. I was reasonably entertained but disappointed as not as billed. I think they could have made much more of the other couples and their relationships with their children . . . oh well, at least I didn't p*y!

Re: Friends with Kids
Doesn't sound as though I missed too much, then. As I couldn't risk a late night last night (and, amazingly, I could theoretically choose any one of three films!), I thought perhaps I could catch it on the Sky date but it turns out that none of the locations is any good. Not sure from these comments that I'd even wait for the DVD!

Re: Friends with Kids
Bit disappointed with film, very busy in Edinburgh.
Too slow, and predictable. Not a fan of friends so can't comment, other than episode I watched characters did seem to gel.
Should have gone to fast girls as sure it was great. Chose to go to Fountain park cos of the parking
5.5/10 from me

Re: Friends with Kids
Lol, none of us were latecomers. My wife and I got there at 6 and joined the queue for the screening. It wasn't until 6.30pm that they started letting people up and even then they told us the wrong screen! This is why so many people came in just as it literally started...seemed a bit of shambles and too many people let in. There were people sitting on the steps in the screen and I saw some people walk in, not find a seat, and have to walk back out again.cinefila1 wrote:At first it looked as if WIQ was going to be a very quiet screening with only a handful of people. In respect to the movie, a couple of funny moments but generally pretty "meh".
Re: Friends with Kids
Saw the movie last night. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I do agree that it had few moments where it was good and a few where it could have been better. But overall, I'm ok with it.

Re: Friends with Kids
Are we talking about the same screening at West India Quay? I don't recall anyone sitting on the steps, and we were let in at 6.15pm. Do you mean Shitsbury Ave by any chance?andrew.falconer wrote:Lol, none of us were latecomers. My wife and I got there at 6 and joined the queue for the screening.
