Re: Friends with Kids
I know I gave it a really low mark, but have to put things in perspective, it's a little vanity project from the wife of Jon Hamm that was made in 4 weeks in early 2011 and they were still busy finalising Bridesmaid then.

Re: Friends with Kids
We saw this last Thursday at Shit-bury, thanks to prettyxcool. They are always disorganized there but that was on a different level altogether!
The film unfortunately was very forgettable. Given the talent cramped into it I was really looking froward to seeing it, which probably made it seem more disappointing than it should be - but disappointing it is. A very average and very unfunny 5/10
ps Just reread this, it sounds as an accusation - I am very thankful to prettyxcool for thickets!

Re: Friends with Kids
Went to the Showcase cinema in Glasgow tonight to see this, pretty much right away the lights went back up and the manager came out and told us that they had some technical problem with the film and would not be able to show it however we could pick anything else we wanted or get tickets to come back at a later date...
have to say very well handled by Showcase huge well done to the manager it's the happiest i have ever seen people at a non screening we took tickets and will maybe try later on in the week to catch a film x

Ditto, apart from the score. 3/10Celini wrote:6/10 for me too!
A comedy that forgot to be funny half way through with a seriously underused supporting cast and two badly miscast leads!
That could have been so much better; I unfortunately got bored after 40 minutes or so and started focusing on Jennifer Westfeldt overly immobile forehead... Got interested again when Jon Hamm woke up for about 25 seconds; definitely the best part of this film.
(oh, and this ending.... really! wtf?)
Anyone else notice the difference in Jennifer Westfeldt's face in those photos album pics, oh why did you do it to yourself?
One of he funniest things was a couple of people asking her what she was thinking, clearly no one else had a clue cos she looked like she was wearing a mask!
As for the film I think I've forgotten it already, it's not funny, wastes it's cast and has some really out of place swearing as well. But then aren't most modern rom-coms like this these days. Obviously it's no When Harry Met Sally, but it even made my mind fondly wander back to Life as we Know It, a good film that now seems a whole lot better.

Re: Friends with Kids
The show case in cardiff starts at an alleged 7:30 - usually later though so was hoping for a worth while comedy effort.
I found the film flimsy, once again everyone has great jobs-appartments etc. and of course the happy ever after ending. Was it worth driving through the pounding rain to see -no

Re: Friends with Kids
Simply annoyed by way too many f words and other unnecessary swearing
Re: Friends with Kids
Tried to go and see this yesterday - then 2 miles from cinema stuck in traffic for 40 mins after an accident - so we missed it.
From the above it does not seem like we missed much -- but free films have been so thin on the ground for us this year I am just sad to miss out on one of the few!

Sat this at 02 in Greenwich; expected the worse from the reviews that read, I however enjoyed
Yes, it's predicatable but on a Tuesday evening I rather enjoyed the escapism.
