You are making me crave goodies with all this talk about delicious cakes :noo:

Menu of the day:
Cereal bar and black coffee for breakfast (150 calories - to save calories for later)
2 litres of water and then as good as humanly possible and spread out my 1350 calories throughout the day on my trip to London - I'm so excited and I will be walking around all day maybe not briskly but I'm sure I'll burn a few calories somehow.

Have a fun Saturday everyone.

Valda and ClareBarr hope that you are feeling better and that Preston and aruif are Ok.
Biggins, havingascreen and rawr-xoxo be good and healthy.
Thanks once again to our supporters anakin, MsThrifty and jojojoanne and of course to our guiding light MrG.

It sounds fowl ;)

Have a fantastic day "Dahn the Smoke" Diane. That menu you posted up the other day looked great. There was certainly some really appetising looking, albeit not overly low in calorie, meals on there. Don't be too hard on yourself though when making your choice - get something you really want. It's silly not to push the boat out on occasions when you get the chance. It's only one meal after all, and you can always claw back a little over-indulgence later on in the week.

I was really hoping that you were going to let your neighbour join you for your walk (well, at least once). You never know, she may be able to keep up with you, and I always think it's better to have someone to share your exercise sessions with especially if they are a nice person and good company.

Now, :shifty: I'm sure that some of you ladies will appreciate the benefits and beauty of a well-trimmed bush. What...?

If you work for the Health and Safety Executive look away now ;)

I spent 9 hours in the garden yesterday with an electric hedge trimmer with both of the safety switches tied so that it was permanently running, controlled only by plugging it into and out of the mains extension lead. 8O I fastened the machine to the end of a washing line prop and waved the whole unwieldy thing around to reach up to the top of our high hedges to do some serious pruning without actually leaving the ground. I hate working up ladders with cutting equipment. It must have been fantastic exercise, because my arms and shoulders ache tremendously this morning. I'll be going out later on this morning to pick up all of the clippings and transport them to the tip in 2 or 3 builders bags.

I had loads of indiscretions food-wise yesterday including but not limited to a packet of cheese and onion crisps, a small 50gm packet of wasabi encrusted peanut snacks (fantastic), and 2 x two fingered KitKat biscuits. :nono: This was partially due to the fact that I wanted to press on with the work and not stop to make meals. Anyhow, fearing the worst, I got weighed this morning and astonishingly I'm back down to the weight I was last week before I put the 3lbs on o/. So how cool is that? Conclusive proof that the "KitKat Diet" really works!

....And, I'm hoping you will take heart from hearing my tale Biggins....sometimes it's a tremendously up and down journey seemingly without any sense or rhyme and reason to it. Don't worry though you've maintained your weight which is good, and I'm sure the scales will be kinder to you next week. I'm convinced that we will all reach our goals if we keep on going with them. :cross:

I'm going to try and eat some better salady type stuff today. Taking the family out at lunchtime to local NT property for a picnic and a bit of a walk about today. I'm also hoping to make a big batch of vegetable curry later on with the intention of freezing some of it.

Have we heard from ClareBarr recently? Hope everything is OK with her!

Have fun everyone and keep an eye on those calories! :D

See that wagon over there? That's the one I fell off :outta:

I knew I was going to a TV record, and it would be a long day, I'd also had a sleeping pill Thursday night, and felt really sick. Soooooo

Friday

2 sausages in a roll from Sainsbury's A Brie, Rocket and Sunblush tomatoe baguette. A couple of pieces of fruit. Not too bad.

Then when we got to the Studio's as we were all VIP we were allowed to stay in a little green room to keep out of the rain... had a couple of some sort of sparkling wine with a fruit syrup and strawberry in it, then after the show in the free bar, I chugged down a couple of Corona's.
By the time I got home I was really hungry, so had a fried egg on a small bit of toast, then a diet chef meal :red: :shifty:

That's the problem with not drinking for months, you easily get tipsy and hungry.

So, a great night out in great company, and a bit of a hangover.

Today is a new day.

Stating with a lovely mug of Redbush Tea. vx

anakin wrote:Diane, I'm not sure about calories, but most of the salads should be ok if you ask for the dressing on the side, or perhaps the steak / salmon / chicken (with a salad if potato is a sin too far)? The portions may be huge, but based on what happened at the carvery recently, you won't be able to finish it anyway!
Are you psychic?!! I had a coffee and a cake at Kensington Palace - I know not an ideal lunch but its better than as well as.
For dinner I had the peri peri chicken as Preston suggested go for what you really want but could only manage 2/3rds of the meal - I was convinced that I would have no problems finishing it off as we had been walking around all day from 9.30am until 5pm apart from 30 minutes sat for our coffee.

What fabulous exercise Preston with all your trimming - manual labour is so good for you!

Hope you've had a healthy day Valda o/

Morning people.

Menu of the day:
Smoothie with bananas and strawberries (250 calories)
Beef paste sandwich and tomatoes followed by blueberries and yoghurt (350 calories)
Hot beef salad with balsamic vinegar and garlic bread (I'm attempting a healthy version done like brushetta) (300 calories)
Strawberries and scoop of ice cream with 10 large chocolate buttons (130 calories (yes I am sad enough to weigh them  ))
170 calories throughout the day

Exercise for the day:
Exercise DVD and depending on how long my ironing/ housework takes - quite a bit due to way too much going out I may fit in a 4 mile walk.

What has everyone else got planned for a lovely Sunday?

Hi Everyone :D

I've got another day in the garden planned - I'm going to be doing more shrub and hedge trimming, bagging up more clippings (I hate this), a bit of weeding, and trying to repair my temperamental lawnmower so that when the lawn finally regains a more non-swamp like consistency I'll be ready to mow.

I made my vat of vegetable curry yesterday using a milder curry powder than last time, in the hope that someone in my family aside from me will at least try it this time. The freezer is stuffed full as usual so I'm scratching my head to know what to do with all ten 8O 600gm tubs of it.

Didn't go out picnicking yesterday - kids displayed their usual apathy and were reluctant to be prised away from the gloom of their bedrooms and their fascinating computer screens. I gave up trying to persuade them rather than having a blazing row. :(

Today’s Meals:

1) Porridge with semi-skimmed milk and a handful of fresh raspberries which need using up.

2) Vegetable Curry (obviously! ) No rice though - need to get through the curry, not bulk it out!

3) Seafood (Squid, mussels, prawns) Salad.

4) Duck Pancakes with cucumber, spring onions, and plum and hoisin sauces.

Today's Exercises:

Pretty much the gardening will be it today - although I'm doing a 18.5 mile bike ride with my mate tomorrow morning. It will be our longest trip yet!

Be good, eat sensibly - have fun!

I hate this phase!! Mine are usually reluctant to come out with me!! What makes it worse is, they then say "we should all start going out together again, as a family", I get all excited - then they don't wana!! It was so much easier when they were younger and didn't have a choice what they did!!!

I treated my oldest daughter and her boyfriend to a trip to Brussels in a lovely 5 star hotel with a fabulous breakfast literally 400 metres from the Grand Place and would you believe they didn't even bother to see the sites ever just went to the bars/ clubs and didn't bother with breakfast as they had only just got in early hours of the morning!! :wall: It was her who said that she wanted to go to Brussels not me - I was stupid enough to think it was for the sites not the clubs!!

I do know that it seems really bad but I've been before with her but it really is a stroll plus the added irritation of her never being ready when we plan so what should take 1 hour is about 2 hours and then I still need to do some exercise afterwards but won't have the time. She's a lovely friend to meet for a coffee and a chat, I do walk with other friends who are of a similar fitness level to me and we spur each other on.

Rawr: Do you like a stir fry? Lots of fresh veg with chicken / prawns / whatever - takes ten minutes tops, super healthy!

Diane: How about you say you'll text her as you leave giving her x minutes to be out of the door, but as you'll be 'at speed' you won't wait for her if she's not there as else you get a stich or something? If she's late, then tough. If she can't catch up, then tough. Otherwise you're just going to have to be honest with her... Or tell her you're so close to your target that you just can't bear to break your routine...
