And yes, Awake has been cancelled.
I'll still watch it, shame it's been cancelled though. I googled Jeremy Isaacs ... we deffo mean Jason!!!
Apologies - yes Jason Isaacs of course! :)

I think Ben was possibly the most accomplished performer last night...he does have a very impressive range and it seems effortless for him. I also really enjoyed Dirk, Roger and Rory. Nathan is good fun, but I fear the ego had landed even before The Lord made a backhanded swipe about his lack of humility.canadian_turtle wrote:I went to the first studio recording last week and got to talk to some of the contestants after, I totally fell for Ben who was just so sweet and spontaneously gave us a hug. And while I think their fantastic performances don't come across on TV quite as good as they sounded live I do agree that the talent in this show is immense. Lloyd Webber was completely right when he said this is usually the standard of the final show.

I thought Niall was lacklustre and I expected him to be a real frontrunner. His makeover has left him looking a wee bit generic for me as well...it's kind of extreme. I also think they made Jon look incredibly artificial and a bit camp. I think he can really portray the emotion of a song but we didn't see that at all last night...I think he has the potential to really surprise people though.
Jeff is certainly the best match with regards to how we believe Jesus is meant to look...but I think he's probably the wobbliest singer of the bunch.
I think David is absolutely lovely and would love to see him blossom over the coming weeks...I hope him being 'gifted' the opening slot wasn't the usual kiss of death because he deserves to stay in the competition for a wee while longer.
I found the names for everybody here - http://superstar.itv.com/finalists/...I would love to be able to say I have a brilliant memory, but alas...I'm a bit rubbish.

Tim seems like a lovely bloke and he's obviously got the chops but in complete contrast to Nathan, I hope they don't keep hammering home quite how body conscious and under-confident he is.canadian_turtle wrote:My favourites of last night's show were Ben, Niall and Tim (though I'm probably biased in regards to Tim as I knew him before).
I agree with you on Nathan which is a real shame as he definitely has the impressive sound for a rock musical. But I hate his arrogance and I hope he gets voted off because of that so he learns to tone it down.
Niall looked really different because he cut his pretty curls, so sad
Jeff, or "baby Jesus", does look like a traditional Jesus but his voice is quite weak.
So far I'm rooting for Ben and that's not at all related to how sweet he was to us. I swear

That's true...it's a shame though as it's unnecessary and distracting. I think 'TPTB' underestimate how savvy the viewing public are.canadian_turtle wrote:I agree but they're always going to be shown at an angle as the director makes certain decisions and the editor others. it's never completely objective unfortunately and I guess the audience wants this as well (or TPTB thinks the audience wants this).
I don't actually know Chris Moyles other than having heard he's a radio presenter so he'll likely lack the experience for a huge production like this. Why is he so bad otherwise?
