Kids ..when they go to their friends' house to eat, it can go either way .. they either come home, marvelling at how great a cook the other mum was, as opposed to how rubbish you are(!) or soooooo grateful that you're their mum and can cook properly!!!Diane65 wrote:Me too.jojojoanne wrote:anakin wrote:It's nice to be slim, but it's better to enjoy life. agree!!I didn't know that you were brought up in Switzerland - how fab or was it a Swiss finishing school? Whichever it was they both sound lovely. When I was at school I had a couple of friends who's parents were from Jamaica and one friend with Indian parents - I used to love it when I got invited for dinner as you got to try such wonderful food. I too love chipsanakin wrote:Menus sounding delish, people. Not so sure about the pink custard. By the time I was at school here, the canteen was packed with waffles, chips, pizzas and burgers. In that way, school in Switzerland was better - you go home for lunch, so we had a fabulous lunch cooked by mum! YUM YUM!
When I was very young, I stayed overnight at my Aunty's house while my Mum and Dad went to the Work's Christmas 'Do'!! I had her make my Ready Brek FIVE times the following morning because she couldn't get it EXACTLY the same way as my Mum did it!!! I'm happy to say, I'm not THAT bad anymore!!! ....I'd do it myself if my almost-90 Aunty hadn't got it right after the third time!!!!
