Channel 4 is making a 4 part Documentary Series about West End Musicals and they need everyone's help to get the dirty details!
For the first time, television gets its camera behind the scenes of one of Britain’s most successful arts industries – the West End. London now beats Broadway for the creation of hit musicals and in Westenders, we reveal the naked truth behind the production of these `sink-or -swim’ ventures and the heroes that get those shows on the stage.
This is epic obs doc, oscillating subtly between the intimately microscopic (individual stories of triumph and heartbreak, boom or bust) and the big-picture, revelatory telescopic , with some of the biggest producers and theatre owners all telling it like it is and revealing the truth behind the curtains and what it takes to make a hit musical that costs you or me a cool £50 to £100 for a ticket at the box office but tens of millions to mount a production.
Never before has TV documented our British Broadway. Now it’s glee-time in the West End.
