Re: Kick-Ass
I actually felt odd, because clearly everyone else in the cinema loved every moment of it....
I think it's the kind of film that people who like film previews and keeps up to date with film news and has an interest in comics would love, but I am not so sure the overall wider public will rave about...

Yeah I felt odd as well...my bf was laughing as well and he'd look over at me and I'd have a blank look on my face, heehee.

Re: Kick-Ass
Each to their own and all that but if you didn't find this film funny, check yourself for a pulse on your way out of the cinema, cos you're taking yourself a bit too seriously!
Watched it with my cousin @ Haymarket, and we both loved it! Yes it was violent, but in a comic way, it was hardly Resovoir Dogs!
Was it predictable? Hell yes. Will it win Oscars & Bafta's? I seriously doubt it. Was it fun? Absolutely!!
Hit-Girl was easily the star of the show... A comfortable 9/10 for me.

Re: Kick-Ass
I agree with superhero and milkchocmonkey, the majority of people were laughing but I felt out of it. There were a few funny parts but not my thing. 4.5/10
Didsbury was 100% full.

Re: Kick-Ass
I got there about 5.50 but had to wait for my mate who arrived 6.20. They kept us waiting a few mins then said there's 50 seats left and we'd ahve to sit at the front. Sorry for those who didn't get in.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, now I'm squeamish with violence but that sort of stuff I don't mind as its not realistic and more cartoony. I did wonder how it got a 15 certificate not an 18 but as Mark Kermode said on one of his podcasts, its very rare for a film to get an 18 nowadays. 9/10 for me.
