With one or two exceptions, it seems that those who didn't like the film didn't do much research into what it was beforehand. Not to be provocative, but in my opinion, the Daily Mail-esque comments are useless. The following quoted comment sums it all up really...

Me too, so you should feel much better now as you were't the only fmuker :P

Not only were the rest of the fmukers were there but they all seemed to have accidentally sat next to each other, lol.
Schadenfreude. Feel much better now that I know I wasn't the only one. Only kidding. ;)
I'm sorry you also waited around for your friend for half an hour and didn't manage to get in.

My wife wasn't feeling very good so we didn't go. Sounds like my type of film as well. :(

Not sure about the cinema- was a bit run down, could do with a fresh lick of paint and was full of comic book geeks and freaks
(not including fmuk'ers of course!)

Where were u guys sitting?? . Not met any of u yet.

Unfortunately, my friend was ill and couldnt make it so I was there on my own like Billy No mates.....

I Was in lower section about halfway down in middle.

Thought the film was very funny and Nicholas cage was FINALLY back on OTT form. Loved .......the way, he was.......... speaking as Big Daddy in the vein of Adam West as Batman in the 60's !! Genius.

Felt it didnt need as much swearing as it had in it but some original action sequences in it. Especially the strobe light/nightvision sequence.

@aybg

my point was about advertising. boys in costumes doing comic-like violence with up tempo music seemed like a hoot. in london the posters are all over the buses and in the cinemas (the nephew goes regularly) there are the full life size cutouts of kick ass. clearly i wasn't p*ying enough attention to the trailer (there are quite a few but the one i saw initially was all about the costumes). younger than recommended will want to see it.

sometimes i see a film slightly above his age range and i think the nephew will be ok, in this instance i think not. i didn't know the age rating for this film was until i saw it last night. sorry if it seemed i was being prissy. i didn't think it was controversial to say i didn't like a film.

[was alive this morning. going back to check pulse. maybe am mistaken]

Maybe we should all wear something or name badges to the next screening so we can recognize fellow FMUKers ;)

maybe we should all wear the same colour or get a badge with fmuk so that we can spot each other. ;)
