Well Shitsbury went up a notch or two with me as they had disabled access straight from the street to Screen 7. Although, was given the wrong information on the telephone the day before, the actual entrance is not in Shaftesbury Avenue as I was told, so when I arrived there at 10.10am, could see no lifts, rang their number and no response, I left my mum in her wheelchair at the bottom of the escalators and raced up the escalators, to see caitlinmorton already at the head of the queue. I found one staff, who was getting the cinema ready, and was told that the disabled access entrance was down the side of the building between Ripley's and the Trocadero, and she promised she would come down in five minutes to open the door for me (but she did not!).
Luckily, I arrived early, but with all the to-ing and fro-ing, meant when I got to the disabled access entrance it was already 10.25am. There was a bell to call for the box office. However, it took them ages to come down and let us in. By the time we got in, it was already 10.40am and all the back aisle seats, which was more suitable for my mum, bar one, was taken, and I had arrived so early too, to make sure we get good seats! And after all that, my mum slept all through the film! haha!
Was looking forward to a good musical like Grease or Mama Mia, so was a bit disappointed. Perhaps because I did not know the Proclaimers' songs that well, that I did not enjoy it as much as I was expecting too. Loved the finale though, in true Bollywood style, the flash mob was possibly, for me the best thing of the whole film, plus, of course, Edinburgh looking so good, makes me want to go back to Edinburgh again. I do not think the songs added much to the story and seemed a little contrived to fit the story to it, and were they lip synching? And dare I say it (sorry to all Proclaimers fans!), the songs sounded a little too samey. I think the film would have worked without the songs. And I have never "heard" an audience so silent, you could hear a pin drop, or have they all fallen asleep too! And fancy that, George MacKay turning up again, so soon after seeing him in another film!

And what is this, "NO" to England! humph!
