I saw this at the Odeon Metrocentre on Tuesday night. I thought that it was a fantastic film.

A strange blend of the shocking and the humorous. For me the movie was made by the characters Hit Girl and Big Daddy and the interaction between them. The pace of the action was terrific and on occasions it was quite amazingly violent, but the worst images were fleeting and not dwelled upon.

The strong language was shocking only because of the age of the actress spouting it, but in a strange way that added to the humour for me – after all they are only words! You just don’t expect to hear it from such a cutesy young girl. I'm not sure from a moralistic (is that really a word?) point of view that it was acceptable though.

I thought the film was visually very pleasing and the storyline was excellent. My attention was held throughout the film. I also liked the music accompanying the film – which seemed to span a few decades. It’s been a long time since I heard Sparks!

I'd score this one at a strong 9 out of 10 - and I'd go back and see it again in an instant.

Sorry to hear that you missed this one Andrews – hope you are feeling much better now, and get the chance to see it if there are more free screenings.

Big delays getting in, found out it was because Kick Ass and Red Mist themselves were at the screening!! They took part in a brief Q&A before the film, KA was a bit mumbly, but RM was on great form - very funny guy. Especially like the Brad Pitt crack.

As for the film I honestly don't think I've enjoyed a comic book film as much since Tim Burtons Batman. It was funny, exciting and got the comedy action mix just right.

There is language and violence, but not as much as I expected
from what I'd read, I hope that doesn't put anyone off.

9.5/10 from me. Film of the year so far.

I think general rule of thumb is: you'll like the film as long as murderous, potty mouthed, 11 year old girls don't offend you.

You'll like the film if you realise it's a comedy, don't take it too seriously, and remember that it's not an advert on how to/not to raise your child!
The PC brigade would go mental at this film... another reason to love it!

Agree, it was awesome!

Saw at Cineworld, Glasgow on Wednesday - surprised with free popcorn and creator Mark Millar (a native Weegie), Aaron Johnson (Kick Ass) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist) at the screening.

Thought it was really funny and not as stupid as the costumes implied.
It's rude and pretty violent at times too.

Really enjoyable film, recommended.

Kick-Ass was very entertaining.

If you are offended by swearing - don't go.

I'm not, and so saw the humorous side. It's comic-based, and therefore has a licence to be as far removed from reality as it both needs and wants.

The fight scenes maintained momentum, not just some 'karate' chop manoeuvres that bore me to tears.

The storyline was decent enough, and lots going on right up until the end of the film.

The soundtrack, although not original, was befitting to the scenes.

Looks like a sequel is in the offing.

I quite enjoyed this, was shocked at how many people turned up for the Birmingham showing. Kick-Ass made me laugh though and I wouldn't hesitate at going to see it again. Was a good change from some of the films I have seen recently, the fighting was quite violent so maybe it should have been an 18 overall but the swearing didn't bother me, even though the little girl's swear word would probably offend others.
Highly recommend this!!
