I saw this on Sunday at Shepherds Bush. The copy of the film they got was a bit dodgy and it repeated a few scenes in places.

I thought it was good but I wasn't fully convinced by the reasoning to justify some of her actions. I was thinking that maybe it would work better if the whole story had happened at an earlier time - i.e. instead of after Sept 11th what about Pearl Harbour or WW1. Then I could understand some of the constraints - however standard love stories have been played out for those wars so it was good to get something a bit more modern.

I was a bit teary too but I have to admit I found it a bit dull in places. Channing and Amanda look good together and had decent chemistry (which was a basic requirement anyway) but I have to admit I was most moved by the relationship between the father and son in contrast to their relationship. Those were the bits where I had to reach for a tissue! Overall 7/10.

I agree I was far more involved in the father/son relationship than boy/girl. Whilst I felt the storyline was promising (I have a friend who's son is currently serving in Helmand Province and I know how important the letters from home are), I did find that it dragged in places and found myself wanting some action but I found the a shirtless CT made up for it some!

An okay chick flick but nothing exceptional - 5/10

i went to the manchester printworks screening via momentum last night. They didn't know anything about the preview and after a short wait they told us the screening should have been elsewhere. The staff were quite good and let us see kick-ass for free. I wasn't too keen on the film so pa*d off in the end. Glad to hear this had not happened elsewhere.

Saw this at Westerhailes last night about 60% full.

Enjoyed the film but for me it was rather slow especially in the beginning and kept feeling that Savannah would start singing songs from Mamma Mia when there were all these beach scenes.

I must be a tough old female cause it did not make me feel weepie. Like MM I would like to know if the book ending was better as this one to me was too predictable. 6/10

I quite enjoyed this as entertainment for an evening but it was not exceptional. Agree that Amanda Seyfried was not very strong in this, but also thought Channing Tatum wasn't great. Definitely felt more involved in the father/son relationship than the love story. Wish it would have been explored more.

Thought the twist at the ending was kind of odd. It seemed to happen a bit suddenly and nothing really led up to it.

Anyway, not bad though.

I was at Covent Garden as well. I was the one in the pink jacket waiting in the foyer for my friend and being too impatient to leave my popcorn until I got into the cinema

I saw this last night, I thought it was ok but nothing special. I usually love this type of film, but I felt it was missing something. They could have done a lot more with the storyline, I thought it dragged in places, but I didn’t see the twist coming. I thought the lead characters had good chemistry, I was surprised as I thought they were a strange match at the beginning. I thought Channing was hot, although I can’t look at him the same way after someone showed me some pictures of him when he used to be a stripper!!

lol, I saw them in an old copy of Heat magazine, but if you google "Channing Tatum Stripping" I reckon the pictures will come up, I can't do it now as I'm at work
