It seems that half of FMUK have cried off this one, judging by the posts here and the number of tickets being offerred in the swap central forum. What a bunch of scaredy cats!!

Never mind - I'll be there to check it out tonight and will be sure to report back. I'm probably going to get a good kicking from my (first) wife for taking her to see this, as I know it's absolutely not her kind of film and I was very vague when she inquired as to what it was about.

There's just no way I'm going to see a horror film by myself though - I need someone to cling on to!! :D
Careful, you don't want to realise the whole "first wife" thing..!

PS I would walk out (of the film) if my hubby did this to me!

I have decided not to go. What I was thinking of when I grabbed two tickets, I'll never know.....

Please fell free to call me a coward - I am wearing yellow in anticipation!

Rather empty screening at Boldon tonight, I wonder if lots of people chose not to go or if they simply couldn't get tickets. Anyway not as good as Rec 1 as the surprise element has gone and although it was short it felt a little laboured and repetitive in places. I was the only one out of my row who's seen Rec 1 so I wonder if maybe that's why I seemed to enjoy it the most. Boyf assures me that he could follow the storyline but going in cold but I'm not so sure. Horror doesn't scare me one jot and this one didn't really have any scary moments so you're all safe to come out from behind the sofa now. All in all watchable but nothing new here, we've all seen this type of film/storyline many times before. 6/10

I saw this at quite an empty smallish screening room at Boldon tonight. It was nice to meet quite a few fellow FMUKers who were in attendance.

I don’t quite know what I was expecting from this film, apart from that it would be incredibly scary. I had never seen the forerunner to this one “Rec” but I did do some homework by way of reading reviews etc. to establish what had gone before.

Frankly I found the film really boring although I did persevere with it to give it every chance. I kept on thinking that it would improve at some point. To give it its dues, it did build some tension through the hand held camera work and moody lighting which were successful in providing a somewhat claustrophobic feel. But that combined with some gore covered half seen figures jumping out from the gloom at regular intervals was not enough to send any shivers down my spine. For me it was repetitive uninteresting twaddle. Even the ending which presumably could lead to a “Rec3” (Oh, for the love of God - Nooooo!) I though was pretty uninspired.

I had this recurring thought that the film reminded me so much of the time that I insulated our loft, though obviously I must have had a bigger budget at my disposal than the film makers had. And the spiders that I encountered were MUCH more scary.

Luckily for me, my wife was not scared by this film at all, so no serious ticking off for me on that score. Apparently she thought she was going to see Robin Hood tonight, bless her (I’ve no idea how that misunderstanding happened ;) ).

She did however proclaim this as “the worst film she had ever seen”, and I would have to pretty much concur with her on that sentiment.

This is a 2 out of 10 film in my book.

Saw this tonight at Cineworld Nottingham, didn’t expect to see as many folks as there was, thought the subtitles would have put them off.

Was glad that i managed to see the first REC last week on Syfy as REC 2 followed on from where the last one finished. Really enjoyed it, and thought it was much better than the first. Tense, blood and gorey – loved it.

As Spanner already mentioned - a pretty sparse turnout tonight at Boldon for this flick. Nice to meet Preston1990 and his wife for the first time too.

I am not a fan of zombie films as such, but am not scared by them either so didnt have a high expectation for this movie - took along sis (anjirose) who somehow thought she was seeing a movie called 'Wreck' - needless to say when she realised which movie it was thought she might need to go home immediately - lol.

Anyhoo - I do quite like subtitled films and this was such. The plot was quite easy to predict with a slight twist on the usual cause of the virus ( I will not reveal for those who have not seen Rec1) -point of view shakey camera work added suspense - not as much gore as I expected. I jumped at one point. Left very much open for Rec3. As i had low expectations I think I enjoyed it more - it was certainly better than Bad Leiutenant - however one pair of girls did walk out.

Will look out for a repeat of Rec1 on Syfy as mentioned by another FMUKer.

Not bad 5/10

It's like Blair Witch meets the Exorcist mixed in with Dawn of the Dead. The cinema was as sparse as I've ever seen for a free preview, maybe a 15% turnout. Maybe the fact that it was foreign language and horror put some people off.
I was trying to appreciate it, it must have been pretty good for them to decide to make a sequel, but at the end of the day, the storyline was awful. It was like one of those computer games transferred into a film. I know people don't go to horror films for the plot necessarily, but throwing in a bunch of kids into the house halfway through the film felt very disjointed.
However I did enjoy the rawness of the film and if you thought Blair witch or cloverfield had shaky camera work and made you want to throw up, wait until you watch Rec2... 5/10 for me
