Well done with continuing to make those good healthy food choices, asamaic o/

A 2kg loss is a really impressive and significant start to your "lose a stone by Christmas" plan. You sound so positive and determined, I can't see you letting anything stand in your way. It's nice to hear your enthusiasm for cooking in your new kitchen, too. That's really bound to help stay on track with the healthy eating.

I've spent the weekend away linking up with DD1 at her uni, and then all of us Prestons travelling to drop DD2 at her uni. It was a majorly overindulgent weekend of multiple meals out. The pinnacle of my badness came on Saturday morning with an veritable orgy of gluttony at the "help yourself, all you can eat, go back again, don't be embarrassed - have some more, buffet style, full English cooked breakfast pig-out".

I may have turned the odd head or two with my portion size on the way back to my table. When I went back for my second plateful some people actually really did do a kind of second take. I really love hotel breakfasts and have them so rarely these days. I think that they are the only thing I miss about not working any more. In my defence, I did go to the gym and also had a swim, sauna, steam before breakfast. I also made do with a cup of tea for lunch and a long walk around the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to try and limit the damage.

Imagine my surprise and pleasure therefore to be able to report another 2 pound loss this week. I can hardly believe it! It all seems to be going too well.

Am I the only person on this thread not to know the back story to Diane's visit to the House of Lords?
I've even tried Googling key words to see if there were any snippets about her visit on the internet but I've not come up with anything. :nono:

EJ has intimated that Diane has done something very impressive which she has been honored for - but it's infuriating not to know exactly what this is. There's little point in me asking Diane directly, as I know she will only tell me half a played down story, due to her modesty. :D

As such, I'm appealing to members of the wider group for full information to be sent to me asap by pms. Rest assured, I promise not to disclose my sources, and will treat anything I am told in the strictest confidence. ;)

Turning now to the lady herself.....I can tell from Diane's recent "healthy food" posts that she is now fully engaged and committed to the diet thing. I knew that she would get back in the zone, and hit her stride with a vengeance once again. I'm confidently predicting at least a 3 pounds loss for her next weigh-day. ....... :shifty: Just sayin', Diane .......No pressure  :D

Just about to have Porridge, skimmed milk and dollop of Diane's scrummy homemade plum jam for a late Breakfast, before hitting the gym this afternoon.

Be good everyone! (....and don't forget the pms ;) )

The first part made me smile as the first time I met you in person we did an all you can eat Chinese buffet and my goodness how we both ate :giggle:

Go Preston1990 2lbs is absolutely amazing :cheer: o/ You must be seeing the honed and toned body taking shape by now.

I will go for the 3lbs weight loss by next week so off for a walk shortly. I did 5 miles yesterday but got a bit carried away picking blackberries so was getting dark when I got in. Just had another portion of celery soup as although I tripled the portion size (to give 2 away) it ended up being 6 portions along with the herb butter and a wholemeal roll so positively stuffed now.

Thanks so much for your encouragement and I'm going for it as this week I am just working regular 37.5 hours so have loads of free time. (It is only 20 minute drive to work so very easy).

Hmmm.....That Diane is one cool customer. Not one hint or clue about her House Of Commons exploits in her yesterday's posting.

I can only make wild guesses at what is behind it all, :shifty: as the FMUK private message system doesn't seem to be working, either. ;)

I think others on this topic will want to know that you were being honoured for a project you undertook and made a great success of. And of course you did this on a volunteer basis on top of all the rest of your family, work and other commitments. So I for one am very glad to see you being recognised and you certainly deserved all that you received yesterday! Congratulations!

From what EJ has said though, it certainly sounds something over and above recognition for say, "supplying a new range of fine plum based comestibles to the great and good in the second chamber".

Nevertheless, I too am happy to add my congratulations and say how pleased I am for the well deserved recognition. o/ Though what it was for exactly must, it seems, for ever remain a mystery to me. C'est la vie

:shifty: Yeah, to be fair though I was just being friendly and followed your lead, as I didn't want you to feel self-conscious about all the stares you were attracting. 8O :p

I'm doing Salmon Fillet with peas, cauliflower and butterbeans for lunch today. Tonight's meal will be a big crunchy salad with boiled egg and a smidge of low fat mayo dressing. Hoping to do a bit more gardening this afternoon if the weather holds up, and I can whip up some enthusiasm for it. 8O

Be good everyone. :D

Great to see so many people on here now :)

My weigh in day was yesterday, pleased to say that the 2lbs I put on last week has shifted. I'm not sure how well I'll do for next Monday though-my birthday is tomorrow & I've had lots of friends visiting me, one knows about my love for chocolate & b*ght me a box of chocolates, a big mug, hot chocolate & little marshmallows! I'm trying to ration myself with it all & have a little every couple of days.

Have been trying to improve my body clock-& pleased to say that rather than going to sleep at 3-5am & getting up at 1-4pm, I've managed to improve it a bit to 12-1am but still not getting up til 10am-12pm....but it's an improvement. Having a condition where I always feel tired (no matter how much sleep I have) makes it hard to get up!

Have a good day everyone :)

Yeah right Preston1990 :shifty: We're as bad as each other ;)

Your lunch sounds divine.

Menu of the day:
All bran with a banana
Chicken and basil pasta salad followed by raspberries
2 sausages, spinach, sweet potato wedges (well squares) sprinkled with paprika (done the healthy way a teaspoon of olive oil shook about in a bag then cooked in the oven, a grilled tomato and apple sauce from my neighbour's tree.
Too stuffed to have a dessert (I have no idea why I feel that I should have a dessert after every meal  )

I will be off for another walk shortly.

Well done you must be so happy not only with the weight loss but the improvement on your body clock too. I have huge admiration for you with a chronic health condition which depletes you of energy and doing everything that you can to improve your health.

Good morning and it's lovely how this thread has come back to life again. So impressed with how much Lord Preston has lost considering we started on the same day. It shows what a massive difference it makes when you put in the effort hence he has lost 16lb and me 2lb

Menu of the day:
Milkshake with raspberries and a banana (300 calories)
2 eggs, 2 slices of garlic sausage with a salad consisting of rocket, cucumber, tomatoes and beetroot with balsamic vinegar as a dressing followed by a pear (320 calories)
Steamed chicken then plonked in a pan with tomato sauce (good idea Clarebarr as this is a portion of the tomato sauce that you suggested I made with the excess tomatoes, garlic and basil now defrosted), sweet potato mash (I had 1 left from DD hence using up), the remaining green beans and brocolli (half price the other day but still fine).
Natural yoghurt with blackberries (I picked these the other day).

In reality I won't have time to exercise as I'm off to the cinema and my friend is calling in after for a coffee.

Good luck everyone and thanks for keeping me motivated. o/

Happy Birthday, ClareBarr! :D
Well done for that fabulous two pound loss last week! Yay! :cheer:

Also, great to hear that you are starting to gain the upper hand with your body clock issues. The way that you are tackling your sleep problem is an inspiration to us all. o/

Yeah but you were rushed off your feet with other things at first, Diane. You are well and truly into it now though, with your long walks and healthy food choices. Your last couple of menus sound very scrummy and healthy indeed. You'll be coming up on the rails fast now. :D
:shifty: Remember though to make sure that when you serve your friend cake with her coffee tonight, you don't accidentally have a piece yourself. :nono: ;)

Wednesday gym for me today o/

Didn't manage any gardening yesterday, but had quite a workout deep cleaning our shower with a steam cleaner (our wallpaper stripper minus the end plate thing).

Today's Menu

Breakfast: Porridge, skimmed milk, jam Diane.

Lunch: Chicken breast with grilled courgette, noodles and sweetcorn.

Evening: Red onion bagel with lettuce, cheese and my first ever taste of Diane's homemade chutney. This is just a try honestly - I will then put the rest away to mature till Christmas.........probably

Be good everyone! o/
