NO

I was bored stiff. It's really cheesy and if you liked the book, I'm pretty confident you won't like the film. Don't waste free tickets on this, wait until it's out on DVD.

I wouldn't waste money on renting the DVD - it is awful. I went to the premiere of this - loads of girls screming for Channing Tatum! . The best thing about it was the free nail varnish in the goody bag (alongside a copy of the book and a tiny vest top with 'Dear John' written on it).
It is by the same author as 'the Last Song' - another load of sentimental rubbish.

i was just thinking that - all the movies that I had seen in 2010 (all 120 of them, ahem) are starting to crop up on tv now. Its almost like I dont need to watch any movies on tv anymore (although I did miss Dear John at the cinema, I think..might have caught a bit of it).

Another sobering thought - I will never again have time to see 120 free films in a year at the cinema, at least until I retire.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
