Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
saw this this afternoon at Cineworld in Edinburgh (Cineworld - please crank up your heating!!) at a prizewinners screening for loads of competitions that had been on (from all the different name lists she had!)
I enjoyed it and thought that the child actress playing Lucy was a lot better now she's grown up as I did find her quite annoying in the previous two films as being a tad precious, but no she was good in this.
It's all very Enid Blytonesque but fine for a fairytale which is what it essentially is.
the boat was beautiful and the 3D actually added a dimension to these scenes.
I enjoyed the film for what it was an adventure for kids, it was lacking perhaps in depth for some adults.
the New Zealand setting was beautiful and I enjoyed seeing places I'd been such as the Moreki Boulders near Dunedin!
The OH was bored he says 5/10, I think 7.10.

Ah I would have waved to you Tilly. I thought it was really not on making everyone wait so long.
Will Poulter was great, he was in that Son of Rambow a couple of years ago, a great little film

Saw this at Whiteleys - Bayswater on Saturday 60% full, a very enjoyable film, 9/10 from me. The boy who played Eustace was great.

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Has anyone in Edinburgh managed to find out if the Odeon at Westerhailes is giving us the free screening of this film on Saturday at 10.30am? We got an email saying it had been cancelled due to the weather last week and but havingascreen went and it was still on!!
Hoping to go tomorrow but as it is now out on general release I don't know what will happen. I have emailed SSF twice and got no reply. I have emailed the Odeon and got no reply and have phoned their number but just get automated voice asking which film I want to book!
Don't want to trail away up there and find it is a wasted journey and not going to p*y to see it!!

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
JUST GOT THIS EMAIL FROM THE ODEON
Dear Ms XXX
I can confirm Narnia 3D is playing this Saturday at 1030 (cinema doors open 1000) and that your tickets are still valid for this show. May I suggest checking your email tomorrow morning before setting off in case the weather takes a turn for the worse overnight, but fingers crossed it doesn't.
Kind regards
David Brymer
Cinema Manager

Well done Biggins - must admit I would have been heading over to WH tomorrow with a big question mark hanging over the visit.
Thanks!
I can now relax

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Saw this at the preview in Greenwich, the staff weren't sure whether it was 3D or not. The highlight was the dragon sequences for me.
Thoght it was better than Prince Caspian but not as good as Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
