I think you should only worry if you know your cinema is going to be strict with stuff like that. Most cinemas don't enforce rules like that so what Times+ say has no real meaning then.

Well, I don't know if Harrison Ford was drunk or his natural demeanour is like this, but he was most peculiar in the introduction to the film tonight. Let's see what bevvy thinks. He was actually acting rather like his character in the film.
I liked this genre, the feel good rom com, no one does it better than Hollywood (well Roger Michell's from London though), you know how the story goes, you know they are manipulating your feelings but you just enjoy the ride.
That said, this is a weak entry to the genre. There is a distinct lack of chemistry between the cast members, so that you never really feel for them. Rachel McAdams did try very hard to act out her role, but I can just see the Harrison Ford character played much better by just about anyone else, say Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Russell Crowe even.
With the production people in attendance, the audience was especially polite and clapped warmly at the end.7/10

saw it this eve. a sweet rom com a bit nonsensical. oh well.. can't get enthusiastic about it. felt a bit like a made for telly thing. and i got a bit fed up of RM playing 'kooky'. could you really take that woman seriously as your boss? reminded me of ally mcbeal... maybe that's why HF liked her in the end :p

the good news is jeff goldblum is in it. he doesn't do much but i did enjoy his interview

cinema gatekeeper barely glanced at my email as i handed it to her.

Odeon Greenwich was very full and we sat next to the lovely prettyxcool.

We loved this. I actually belly laughed quite a few times which I don't often do but some things were just so funny. The best bits were when she sent the weatherman and then Diane Keaton out to "try out things on air". :bwl:

Just the right film after a stressful day at work - you see that other people work their socks off too and have to deal with crappy colleagues. The love story went a bit too easy but it wasn't the main focus. Got to look up the boyfriend, he was smokin'!

"Are you gonna sing?"

Totally agree with everything you've said. Really enjoyed it, about 100% full in Manchester.
Loved the cameo by 50 cent, I think he s gorgeous - don't know why as I'm normally into the Colin Firth type.

Just seen this at a packed streatham odeon! Wasn't expecting much from having seen the the trailer but was pleasantly surprised.

Thought Harrison ford played his character well though would have liked more banter between him and Diane Keaton. It was funny and heartwarming. I did feel for becky fuller.

I almost nearly did not make it as after a lovely day out and about, I had to rush home to pick up my tix as I had forgotten to put it in my bag, but only realised when I got to Odeon Greenwich, I had picked up next week's SFF tix, and tonight's was not a SFF screening, otherwise I would have winged it! So spoke to the manager explained about printer problems (thought he would be more sympathetic than an oops, wrong ticket story), and showed him my ticket on my blackberry. He said no problem, there are many with two tickets coming on their own, and I could just go in on one of them!! So I did, problem solved.

As always, it was lovely to sit with and catch up with Beate and her OH.

Agree with everything Beate says about the film. Loved it. It was charming, amusing, and light hearted. After the heavy and intense films I have seen recently, this is very refreshing for me. Loved Diane Keaton, Harrison Ford, playing a grumpy old man brilliantly, Rachel McAdams and Patrick Wilson (Beate, you were right he was in the Switch, but I thought I had seen him somewhere else before), mmm, my kind of guy, and of course the wonderful Jeff Goldblum (I just can't get enough of him). Lots of loud laughs, and they say laughter is infectious, it certainly was, I was laughing along with the cast, and had tears in my eyes. Fab! A film I can see again and again. 9/10
