Saw Mark Kermode's unrevealing review and was immediately intrigued.
The film is beguiling but it is also quite shocking in places; it deals with unsettling ideas. Be warned- not for the faint hearted.

Re: Eye in the Sky
I watched it in Exeter and there was not a movement in the audience - all seemed mesmerised by the drones and how they were being utilised.
I had read a dismissive review in the Guardian but I really quite enjoyed it, though recognize its flaws.

Re: Black Souls
Really enjoyed this film.
I agree it was difficult to know how the characters related to each other.
The final scene was shocking and slightly unexpected.

Re: The Lobster
Doesn't the ending suggest that the two of them are now unlike each other and so they cannot be together? I thought he had abandoned her when he failed to return, after saying that he was going to blind himself... And ...I thought that Farrell was brilliant - not something I have ever expected to ...

Re: Stories We Tell
"A film that excavates layers of myth and memory to find the elusive truth at the core of a family of storytellers." So, did no-one here attend a free PH members' preview this AM? I am working but was expecting reports as I know there are a few PH members amongst us. I did! I really enjoyed it ...

Re: In the House
I loved the film. The boy's face was amazing and I found myself continually wondering where fact and fiction started and finished.

Re: Beasts of the Southern Wild
I am just back from the film. Have to say that I had been looking forward to this after the trailer a few weeks back, and it did not disappoint. I think that it was making a huge point about the changing world and how we should respect the wild and the past. I shed a few tears along the way.

Re: Your Sister's Sister
Saw this a few weeks ago and I have to say how refreshing it was in comparison to some "action" films I have viewd recently. I am not sure if I totally belived some of the storyline, but the acting was cool. Improvisation provides an edge I think.

Re: The Artist
Back from Braehead and a pretty full Guardian reader audiences. If it was your typical SFF audience I reckon there would had been some walk outs. OH hated it so much it is her worst film of the year. I thought it was so so. I guess it is cos I find it hard to focus fully for the length of the film ...

Re: Win Win
I know!!! Thats why I thought it was very very very strange for a film like Win win to be packed out 8O I don't think free screenings of indie drama films ever tend be completely full.... My first reaction was I thought they were joking with me! I saw it on Sun at Exeter PH and thought that might ...
